Daniel's Apartment {- Twilla -}

[Daniel]

Danny stuck his key in the lock and turned. He smiled to himself
as it clicked and forced the door open. It was good to be home again.
He dumped his books on the table and walked over into his living
room to watch some TV. Kelsey should be out vamp hunting, so he
had his privacy.

[Twilla Parks]

Twilla jumped up from the lounge chair she was sitting in as Daniel
entered the room. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Kelsey let me..." She
stopped in the middle of her sentence, lost for words. Then she picked
her coat up off the chair next to her. "I'll just go."

[Daniel]

Daniel's mouth was frozen open for a little bit, then he regained
control of himself. "No, wait," he managed to blurt out. "You don't
have to leave." He racked his brain for something to say. "I was
just gonna pop a movie in and make some popcorn. You game?"

[Twilla Parks]

Twill smiled awkwardly. "Sure, I guess. Well, it depends on what you
wanted to watch. I'm not sitting through one of those long boring love
movies."

[Daniel]

"Actually, I was planning on watching Gladiator. I'll go microwave
some popcorn." Danny turned to walk out of the room. He got to
the kitchen and pulled some microwave popcorn out of a cabinet.
He set it in the microwave, then came back to the living room.

[Twilla Parks]

"Gladiator? I love that movie! Nice and gorey." Twill patted the seat next
to hers. "Slide it in and get comfortable. Don't worry, I'll let you hug the
popcorn when it gets to scary for you."

[Daniel]

" 'When it gets to scary for me,' " he mimicked. "Very funny. You'll be the one screaming by the time this thing is over." He
turned on the DVD player and switched the TV to EXT. The Gladiator DVD menu popped up on screen just as popping sounds
starting coming from the kitchen. "Well, I'd better go make sure the popcorn doesn't burn."

[Twilla Parks]

"Nah, you've been working all day. I'll go get it." Twill hopped up out of her seat and headed for the kitchen. Then she realized, Oh
my gosh we sound like an old married couple! She hit her forhead for making that comment as she took the fully-popped popcorn out of the
microwave and brought it back to the living room. She put a kernel in her mouth and passed the bowl to Dan.

[Daniel]

Danny took the bowl and grabbed a handful, then set it down on the coffee table. "So, how many times have you seen this,
exactly?" he asked. "I mean, only 1 girl I know would actually be interested in guts flying. That would be..."

[Twilla Parks]

"Kelsey," Twill finished for him. "Obviously." Then she tossed her hair and added, "Yeah, I am not like other girls." She gave Dan a sly
grin.

[Daniel]

Danny was starting to feel a little warm. He started tugging at his shirt collar. "Dang, I hate the heating in this place.
First it's too cold, then all of a sudden, it's too warm." He walked over to the thermostat and lowered the temperature. Then he
came back over and sat down next to Twilla again.

[Twilla Parks]

Twill laughed. "You've done pretty much everything else. You wanna start the movie now?"

[Daniel]

Danny blushed. "My bad. I think I just sat on the remote." He reached under himself and pulled out a Panisonic remote. He
pressed play, and the movie started. "Gotta love surround sound."

[Twilla Parks]

Twilla chuckled. "Yeah, no better way to enjoy bloody gore than to get in the action." She swung a playful punch at Danny's arm.

[Daniel]

Danny's mouth fell open. "Oh no you did not!" He picked up a throw pillow and aimed it at Twill's head.
