Kelsey stood very still as ice-cold rain drops pelted her skin. The full moon looked photo-docked into the sky above her head. Puffs of condensation came from her mouth.
Where is he? she thought helplessly. Daniel promised he'd be here a while ago! The vampires will be waking up soon, and I need my stakes!
Something rustled amongst the graves behind her. Kelsey spun, squinting into the darkness. She could barely make out the noise of footfalls.
There was no denying it: She was not alone.

Alyssa loved the smell of blood at midnight. She was crouching in the underbrush, stalking her next victim. This girl looked slightly different than the others, but the way she carried herself told Alyssa she was unprepared for an attack.
There's no way she's a slayer, she told herself. She grinned, feeling oh-so-clever. Then she poised herself for attack.

Oh crap. Emiell grit his teeth, hearing his fledgling rusting as she ducked for cover in the underbrush surrounding the graveyard. She was about to attack, he could feel the tension in the air. Can't she smell slayers like Chester?
He had to intervene, before Alyssa got herself dusted. Rolling his eyes (and swearing under his breath), he jumped Alyssa from behind, taking her down.

Now Kelsey was sure she was being followed. She couldn't stand around waiting for Daniel, the beasts would figure it out and attack. She did a quick survey of her surroundings.
There was a maple sapling at the opposite end of the graveyard. If she got lucky, she could reach it quickly, snap it in half, and use it as a weapon. If all else failed, she could hold the vamps off until Daniel's arrival.
Groaning, she started running. Her shoes squeaked on the wet gra$s. Cursing instinctively, she gathered herself up and took off with a chain of front-handsprings. She landed out of breath in front of the sapling. She crouched down, waiting for the vamps to come out of hiding.
Then she would catch them by surprise.

Emiell hit her full force in the back. It was all she could do to keep from yelping as she went down, fighting him every step of the way.
She rolled out of the fall, hair splayed in many different directions. Infuriated, she turned on Emiell and raised a hand to slap him across the face.

Rory looked at the grave yards. She sighed. Was that Kelsey? Where was Daniel? She looked around before coming to her. " Kels, wheres Daniel? Why isn't he with you?" she asked looking around and taking her stakes out. Where was Jordan? Not that she minded being alone, she actually prefered it, rather than being constantly lectured.

Sadie was panting. Panting and running. Footsteps echoed in the dark alley behind her. Don't worry, she kept telling herself. The graveyard's not far away now.
Still, the fact was unavoidable: She was being followed.

Jordan stumbled into the graveyard, his shirt ripped open at the neck. Blood was pooling in a wound above his eyebrow. But he couldn't remember anything.
Just minutes ago, or so it seemed, he had been with his little brother, Les. Now Les was gone, he was here, his head hurt, and there were scratches across his exposed chest.
But Rory was here, so he was in the right place. "Hey Rory!" he called, waving a duffel bag overflowing with stakes at her. I brought you some weapons!"
He frowned when he saw she was not alone. There was another girl with her, and she was unarmed. They were both soaked with rain.

"Daniel was supposed to meet me here about 20 minutes ago," Kelsey answered. She was breathing heavily.
Someone was calling out Rory's name. She followed the sound of the voice. "Is that your watcher?" she asked, raising her eyebrows quizzically. "Jordan, right? He looks drunk."

Emiell easily deflected Alyssa's poorly-executed backhand, rolling his eyes. Then he heard the grass swish. "You bloody idiot!" he hissed under his breath at Alyssa. "You let the girl get away!"
Without giving his fledgling a chance to reply, Emiell launched himself out of the bushes after the girl.

Rory spun and easily counter acted Emile. " Jordan! Give Kelsey some of the weapons, would you. And for god sakes clean yourself up." she said before pummiling Emile to the ground and punching him.

Alyssa growled from her spot in the underbrush. She knew it wouldn't take long for Emiell to get back up again, but she didn't want to give the other Slayer any time to react. She crept around through the brush until she was directly behind the other girl. Then she leaped onto the girl's back.

Emiell caught the girl's fist in his hand, then twisted her arm to flip her over on the ground. Before she could take a breath, he rolled over and pinned her.

Chester squinted through the rain at the retreating figure. It was a girl, he could tell, because the silhouette of her hair stood out away from her back. There was only one other thing that was obvious to him: the girl was getting away.
Groaning, he sped up. He would catch her and turn her, just to prove to Emiell that he wasn't a wimp.

Jordan quickly grasped the situation. He grabbed a few stakes from inside Rory's bag and tossed them at the other girl. Then he headed toward the brawl his slayer had gotten herself into.
